What you can expect from the job:

Providing Data Engineering solutions from raw data extraction to Models. Focus areas are development of change requests, integration of new views and columns, onboarding of new customers and analysis and solution of incidents. Every implementation needs to be tested in coordination with front-end developers according to pre-defined criteria and in compliance with our Data Analytics architecture.

Lead a team of data engineers and guide them with the best data strategies in line with data needs.

Design, develop, and optimize data workflows and notebooks using Databricks to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into the data lake.

Build and maintain scalable and efficient data processing workflows using Spark (PySpark or Spark SQL) by following coding standards and best practices.

Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Develop data models and schemas to support reporting and analytics needs.

Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing appropriate checks and controls.

Monitor and optimize data processing performance, identifying, and resolving bottlenecks.

Monitoring of data loads across the entire Data Engineering responsibilities, taking corrective actions and pro-active communication with team.

Creation of system and process documentation.

What will help you do the job well:

Must-have skills/ characteristics

4-8 years of experience in working with Data Engineering projects.

Strong experience in SQL, PySpark based development.

Strong experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions on Databricks.

Experience in tools for monitoring and alerting in ETL pipeline processes.

Experience with data modelling and data security concepts.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps tools.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Other desirable skills/ characteristics

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field.

Experience with Python.

Understanding of Agile development methodologies.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge of data security best practices and experience building secure data solutions.

Willingness to travel – domestic/ international.

Knowledge of ISMS principles and best practices.
