About Client

Client

The client is a prominent media organization in India that owns FM radio stations, television channels, and over 40 publications, including one of the largest circulated newspapers in the world. They are the first media company to install SAP in the Asian continent.

Business Requirement

The client had installed their SAP application in 1998. Over the years, the SAP ERP got upgraded from 3.1 to ECC 6.0 on Oracle DB. The company then needed the ERP 6.0 EHP0 to be upgraded to ERP 6.0 EHP8. They wanted to convert Oracle to HANA 2.0 database, which would be the first step in migrating to S/4HANA. The objective was to improve the total performance of SAP by moving to HANA.

CCS Solution

The migration was planned in phases and successfully conducted with SAP Module and ABAP experts.

Carried out test migration to list out the inventory of activities and ensure that the migration takes less than 24 hours.

Built parallel landscape of existing systems to overcome any production lockout.

Since the company had implemented an IS module for Media, the migration took care of 3000+ custom objects.

Conducted SAP ABAP Custom Code Impact analysis along with remediation for HANA migration and change request management.

The migration process of each system ended with a strict verification procedure, including technical and application tests.

Trained end-users on new SAP business functions, given the upgrade and HANA Migrations.

Business Benefits

Successfully migrated to S/4HANA with no disruption to external, integrated media software or the client’s business.

Made it possible to evaluate and analyse the performance of large volumes of unstructured data.

Ability to manage the exponentially growing data volumes courtesy of digitization.

Optimized the response times on SAP, particularly concerning bulky reports.

Reduced SAP TCO by moving to HANA.
